"Waddled Into My Heart"

The prompt for this was "'Interior: Bedroom, Evening' is the setting for an Intimate Love Scene." I took this prompt in a more comedic tone and tailored lingerie out of fabric scraps for my Jellycats.
"Fashionably Late"

The prompt for this photo was "'Exterior: Outside Shop/Restaurant, Day' is the setting for someone who is running late for work." I don't care for modeling in my own photos, but I was in a pinch and needed to get this completed by the deadline. I was scrubbing salt stains out of my boots for weeks after I took this.

The prompt for this assignment to create a narrative scene using a three point lighting setup. This was my first time using professional lighting equipment for a photo, and I am very proud as to how this turned out. Thank you to my lovely model, Kiesha.

Kiesha returns! The prompt for this was a high contrast noir lighting set up. I wanted to do a high angle for this shot, so I got up on a rolling staircase with no support (and my camera that should not be that high up without safety guards) and got this picture.

These next couple of photos were part of one major assignment, telling a story in six frames, but with me being, well, me, I did ten photos. The prompt was, "Jordan loses something important (other than a phone) panics, finds it & is relieved."

For me, I really like challenging myself and thinking outside the box when given a prompt. I made the subject of my photos two dust bunnies living under a teenage girl's bed. What do all teenage girls have under their beds? Their crushes on magazines, so this teenage girl has her John Mulaney and Michael Keaton magazines. These are totally not mine...

The story follows Jordan, the dusty bunny with a bow, loses her boyfriend, Dusty, to the vacuum cleaner and must rescue him before he is gone for good.

Rack focus part one! Jordan and Dusty were each crafted out of their own styrofoam ball. Then, I took pillow stuffing and hot glued it onto the ball base to give them a circular shape.

Rack focus part two! Once the hot glue from the pillow stuffing was dry, I spray painted them with a light gray coat to give them a "dirty" look, like they had been sitting under that bed, all nice and cozy, for a while. Yes, Jordan is riding in a blue toy Barbie car to go and retrieve her man.

I've always found the "damsel in distress" trope to be quite puzzling because sometimes I look at the situations these writers and directors put these poor women in, and I think to myself, "A woman would never be stupid enough to put herself in this situation."

If you have noticed, the dust balls' expressions change throughout the piece. I made two models for both Jordan and Dusty. One of Dusty's models had a shocked expression and the other happy. Jordan's models are pissed off and happy.
